Supervision / Reflective Practice

for holistic therapists

and those working in the helping professions

Supervision is a dedicated and confidential space to reflect on your work with someone outside your day-to-day who can offer deep, skilled listening and help you make sense of what's coming up for you. It's a space to be witnessed in your work. Not watched, but seen.

In supervision, you might bring the session that’s stayed with you, the client who wants more from you than you can give, the one that leaves you doubting yourself, the client you keep thinking about in between appointments. Or it could be a space to take some time for yourself, to check in with how you’re doing.

In psychotherapy and counselling, supervision is part of practice, but the reasons it matters aren't unique to talking therapies. Anyone doing relational, hands-on, or emotionally attuned work is absorbing something from the people they see. Having a space to put that down, make sense of it, and be supported in return is good practice.  It’s a way of resourcing yourself.

This work can ask a lot of you.  Having a space to talk about it can help.

I offer a space to reflect on your practice in a supportive and collaborative way.  In a session we might spend time thinking through something that’s been on your mind, making sense of difficult feelings, or just checking in with how you’re doing.  My approach is grounded in contemplative supervision which combines a mindful presence and a deeply relational way of working.

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist. I have completed the training component of my mindfulness-based contemplative supervision training at Karuna Dartmoor and am now working towards UKCP recognition as a supervisor. As a supervisor in training, I offer low-cost spaces on an ad hoc or regular basis. Alongside supervision, I work in private practice as a psychotherapist and have held a range of roles across the helping professions, including practice manager at a large therapy centre and trainer at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

If you feel this space could be helpful for you and your practice, I'd love to hear from you.
