Tree-Lined Park Path

I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic perspectives to support the therapeutic process and respond to your individual needs. My work is flexible and responsive to each person, and the following approaches particularly inform my practice.

Humanism is at the heart of my work, grounded in the belief that each person has an innate capacity for growth and healing when supported within a compassionate and attuned therapeutic relationship. As part of this, the focus is on your unique, subjective experience.

The relationship we build together is central to the work. I aim to create a thoughtful, genuine and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. When therapy feels challenging or uncomfortable, we can stay with this together and gently find our way back to a sense of safety and steadiness.

My work is informed by developmental perspectives, which means we may explore how earlier life experiences have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others today. By developing greater understanding of how your past experiences may still influence your feelings and responses, we can begin to cultivate more agency in how you respond in the present.

An embodied awareness is also important to my approach, paying attention to how stress, emotion and past experiences can live in the body and nervous system. Slowing down to notice and explore physical sensations can deepen connection with your embodied self and support work with trauma.

I am interested in how our lives are shaped by the wider contexts we live in, including social, cultural and environmental influences. This ecological perspective includes inspiration from ecopsychology and our relationship with nature and the natural world.

I also welcome exploration of meaning, purpose and personal growth, including spiritual or existential questions if these are important to you. These psychospiritual aspects of being human can support personal growth, integration and a sense of wholeness.

At times we may use creative or imaginal approaches, such as working with metaphor, imagery, dreams, or different parts of the self. Creative and imaginal explorations can help us access inner experiences and the unconscious, deepening understanding and insight.

Above all, I aim to meet you with presence, compassion and deep listening so that you feel seen, heard and acknowledged as a whole person.

Finding the right therapist is important, and it can be helpful to have a sense of whether you feel comfortable with someone before beginning. If you’d like to learn more or ask any questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
